Also known as Indian ginseng, poison gooseberry or winter cherry, Ashwagandha is an evergreen shrub that is native to India, the Middle East and Africa. Ashwagandha is another herb with deep roots in Ayurveda, the traditional medicine practiced in India. In this culture, Ashwagandha is used as a Rasayana – An invigorator, used to ease pain and inflammation and treat a number of ailments.
